Spring Tips For The Garden

Spring is an uplifting and exciting time for many of us in the gardening world. Now is the time that our gardens slowly start to come back to life. Here are some tips to think about for your spring garden:

1. April is a good month to plant those perennials. Marigolds and gladioli are good choices.

2. Have a tidy up in the garden, remove the old leaves and debris from the flower beds. Remember to look out for any wildlife, there may well be nesting birds or hibernating hedgehogs so be cautious.

3. Use your compost bin for any dead organic matter. (if you haven't already got one so some research into the benefits for your garden planting)

4. Spring is the perfect time to prep and clean your garden furniture, garden ornaments and greenhouses.

5. Get out your gardening tools and keep them organised so that you can easily find them when you next want to do some planting. Make sure they are sharp and be sure to give them a good clean and oiling.

6. You may be tempted to start mowing the grass as it starts to warm up. Why not leave a patch of your grass to grow for wildlife to enjoy.
