Garden Essentials In June

Finally we are starting to enjoy the sunshine with brighter and warmer days ahead of us, we can finally say goodbye to the spring season.

June is the time you will see many flowers start to bloom and you can finally enjoy the warmer days. As the days start to get hotter there are essentials to maintaining a healthy garden this summer.

Pests Galore!

June is a prime time for pests which will love the growth of your garden just as much as you. Use natural planting to try to keep the pests away such as chillies and garlic bulbs. These produce scents which deter the pests and keep them at bay. Try and research natural remedies and solutions as we do not want to harm the garden and the environment with harmful insecticides.

Thirsty Plants

Watering your garden plants is vital in the hotter summer days. Water your plants in the early morning and late evening. Water butts are a great way of collecting rain water and ensuring a good supply of water for the garden.

Mow Less

Mowing the garden grass is a keen trend this summer. The reduced mowing encourages more wildlife and gives beetles and other small creatures a sanctuary. Many people struggle with the concept as they think the garden looks "messy". Believe us when we say watching and helping the wildlife it will attract in the garden will be more than enough reward of an extra fews without mowing your grass. You can sit back and relax watching the extra wildlife it will attract into your garden.

Create a relaxing space

The garden is essentially a relaxing space for many people, so ensure it offers everything you need to unwind this summer time. Consider shade if your garden gets full sun throughout the day. Gazebos and parasols are great options for coverage over garden tables and seating areas. A BBQ is always a top choice when summer is here so make sure you invest in one that will last.
